Welcome to Day 2 of the “Keepin’ Kool” contest with Kool ‘n Fit.

Here’s the results of yesterday’s Trivia Question:

Q: Kool ‘n Fit’s original formula was created in which country?

A: Germany (circa 1880). They also know how to play soccer there.

And the winner of a 4oz bottle of Kool ‘n Fit Sport spray is: JOSE RIVAS.

CONTEST: “KEEPIN’ KOOL” (DAY 1)

Kool 'n Fit

Kool ‘n Fit

Time for another fun giveaway from Tripping The Kenyans. But this contest is a little different as you have not one, but five chances to win this week.

More on that in a quick bit. First off, let’s talk about what’s up for grabs.

Let’s talk Kool ‘n Fit.

Click here to check out their website.

Or here to visit their Facebook page.

Kool ‘n Fit Sport is an all-natural performance spray designed to be used before, during or after a workout (FYI, Kool ‘n Fit has multiple types of sprays/oils). It acts as a “vasodilator,” which is a fancy way of saying it increases blood flow (and no, it doesn’t attract vampires).

MAKE ME A COVER BOY…

“Once more unto the breach, dear friends.” -Willy “Billy Bob” Shakespeare

Put me on the Cover... pretty please.

Put me on the Cover… pretty please.

This past March I asked for your help by throwing a vote my way to become one of the ambassadors for A Runner’s Circle.*

Unfortunately fortune did not share its fortune with me that day and I had to give one of those presidential concession speeches where I thanked the people who whipped my butt in a public forum while I appeared to be happy. You know, like those reaction shots of the people at the Academy Awards whose name isn’t in the envelope and later say “It was just “an honor to be nominated.”

Well, I’ve decided to once more give it the “college try” when it comes to public opinion.

This past week Runner’s World magazine announced its latest contest where one lucky man and woman each will be chosen as cover models for an upcoming issue.

WINNER: “GIVE YOURSELF A HAND”

Hi Trippers!

And it doesn't get in the way of the "thumbs up."

A Handana-clad “thumbs up” to the winner.

Thanks to everyone who entered the Handana “Give Yourself a Hand” contest.

Apparently we’re a pretty sweaty bunch out there and wearing a handana will help you keep the “sparkle” (aka gallons o’ sweat) out of your eyes.

But without further ado, the winner of the Handana $15.99 gift certificate is: SUSY VARGAS.

Be sure to visit the Handana website…

Or click here to visit their Facebook Page.

And keep checking Tripping The Kenyans for fun contests (got a weeklong contest coming up near the end of the month) and plenty of witty witticisms.

Run on!

CONTEST: “GIVE YOURSELF A HAND”

Handana on lefty.

Handana on lefty.

Hi Trippers!

Ready for another contest?

Well, this one couldn’t be better timed as we’re now all running in the midst of the sum-sum-summertime.

Yup, hot weather means sweaty running. Or in my case, gushing buckets from every pore on my body running.

So how about we give you a “hand” in keeping your excessive dewiness under control.

Recently, I posted a Gear Check article about the “Handana,” a cool sweat band you wear around your hand.

Check it out here. Read the rest of this entry

CONTEST: “LET’S BE ADDICTS”

Hi Trippers!

Race Addict: A good kind of addiction.

Race Addict: A good kind of addiction.

If you’re like me, you run a lot of races and it can be a challenge to keep track of everything. My race shirts hang in the closet, my race bling on a race medal hanger (need to get another one soon). I even keep my race bibs together.

But where do you store all of your vital race information like:

  • Race Name
  • Location
  • Date
  • Start Time
  • Results
  • Bib Number
  • PR’s
  • and much more…

For the longest time I kept all of my race info on an excel spreadsheet (nerdy, I know) but showing that to friends (even racing ones) was about as exciting as displaying quarterly business projections. And creating a PowerPoint presentation seemed like overkill.
