KNOCK KNOCK, HERE’S FOOD!

I’m a lousy cook. Pure and simple.

My specialty

My specialty.

Sure, I can drop some frozen waffles in the toaster or use the can opener and microwave to nuke some soup.

I’ve even been known to whip up a killer batch of ice cubes (when I’ve got the recipe).

Okay, maybe not that bad.

I am getting better. I’ve added the crockpot to the list of kitchen devices that I’ve managed to finally figure out. And I do know a handful of recipes that I can make without me ending curled up in the fetal position in the corner of the kitchen reaching for the phone to dial Dominos.

But let’s just say that as a whole my culinary creation skills are still lacking. Read the rest of this entry

THE WSJ PICKED MY BRAIN…

Hi Everyone,

Look, a real paper.

Look, a real paper.

Sorry for the recent lack of posts.

I have been uber-busy on the work front (post on that in the near future).

Also, a few changes in my running/workout plan (another pending post).

And a few other things are afoot too (yup, probably posts on those as well).

In the meantime, just a quick blurb today. A few weeks ago I got a call from Rachel Bachman, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal (great publication, but could still use a comics section), and she was working on a story about runners and bib transfers. She had read one of my posts on TTK and asked if she could pick my brain for her story.

We chatted on the phone for about 30 minutes and I gave her a few good factual tidbits, as well as a quote or two. In the end, I didn’t get quoted in the article, but that’s okay. As a producer/writer I know that at times even good things need to end up on the editing room floor (or “Kill your darlings” as author Stephen King puts it).

So, Rachel dropped me a note today, thanking me for my help (and wants to use me as a “running” resource in the future) and sent me a link to the article and accompanying video. Click below to check it out.

“Reading is fundamental”… and Run on!

SNAPSHOT: HOLLYWOOD HALF MARATHON ’15

Hi Trippers!

To quote the very well known saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Well, if that’s the case then this past weekend’s Hollywood Half Marathon spoke volumes.

As an excellent runner’s perk, the race directors arranged for all of the participants to get digital downloads of all of their race photos (from MarathonFoto) for free. Since that service typically costs $39.95 on MF, that is one heckuva race perk.

So, thanks again to the Hollywood Half Marathon for allowing me to download a heap of photos of my sweaty mug without the words “PROOF ONLY” blazoned over my face and torso.

Say cheese… and Run on!

JUGGLING, SORE NECKS AND GEEKING OUT…

Hi Trippers!

Sorry for my blogging “MIA” this week. Things have been a tad busy on the work front. But that is a good thing.

Multi-tasking blows.

Multi-tasking blows.

I’ve got a new entertainment project I’ll be producing that is about to get underway any day. Can you say “impending greenlight.” More news on that when I’m able to share any details.

In the meantime I’m trying to finish up the first draft of my latest script, which is only going to get harder once the other project kicks off. I see some midnight candle burning in my near future as I want to minimize any overlap.

And on top of that, I’m finally taking the big plunge (long overdue) and starting my own production company. And that feels like a job in its own right. Let’s just say that between paperwork, legal forms and business related minutiae the day can quickly get away from you. Of course there’s also fun stuff, like having a company design a logo for me and getting the website built (wait I’m building the website too… more work). Read the rest of this entry
