JUGGLING, SORE NECKS AND GEEKING OUT…
Hi Trippers!
Sorry for my blogging “MIA” this week. Things have been a tad busy on the work front. But that is a good thing.
I’ve got a new entertainment project I’ll be producing that is about to get underway any day. Can you say “impending greenlight.” More news on that when I’m able to share any details.
In the meantime I’m trying to finish up the first draft of my latest script, which is only going to get harder once the other project kicks off. I see some midnight candle burning in my near future as I want to minimize any overlap.
And on top of that, I’m finally taking the big plunge (long overdue) and starting my own production company. And that feels like a job in its own right. Let’s just say that between paperwork, legal forms and business related minutiae the day can quickly get away from you. Of course there’s also fun stuff, like having a company design a logo for me and getting the website built (wait I’m building the website too… more work).
On a similar note, my girlfriend Lindy’s TV show is officially in production and I couldn’t be happier for her. Needless to say, we are going to be quite the busy couple in the next few months (we’ll have to schedule a few date nights in there).
As a result, my freetime (and blogging time) are about to get severely tested, so please bear with me over the next few weeks if my posts are a little smaller, fewer and further between than normal.
And this has been a bit of an annoying week on the running front. I’m attempting to work my new Hoka One One shoes (Bondi 3s) into my running rotation. I’d like to wear them at the Hollywood Half Marathon on April 11th.
The problem is my running rotation this week has been non-existent due to a pain in the neck… literally.
Everyone once and a while, I sleep wrong and it screws up my neck for a day or two. Yup, I’m old. I end up walking around like Robocop and generally complaining to everyone.
And it hurts to exercise. Who knew you would actually need your head and neck to workout.
So, I’ve been icing, massaging and Tylenol-ing the hell out of my neck since Tuesday morning and avoiding the gym. Oh, and no workout tends to make Scott a cranky boy. If they take away my caffeine too I might have to be locked away for everyone’s safety.
I’m hoping to finally get back to the gym this morning and also head out for a long run on Saturday.
And since my aforementioned freetime is most likely about to disappear, I’m using this Friday as a last chance to get my geek on for the next few weeks.
I’m heading down to WonderCon at the Anaheim convention center with my buddy Jack. For those of you not familiar with WonderCon, the best way to think of it is as “ComicCon light.” Or if ComicCon is professional baseball, this is Spring Training.
You can read about WonderCon here.
So i’ll be running around the convention floor gawking at all of the latest movie/TV/comic memorabilia, hoarding swag, checking out some panel discussions and admiring all of the great cosplayers.
Catch you after the weekend!
Geek out… and Run on!
